Brief Bio
Jonathan Adams holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Boston University and a master's degree in instructional design with a specialization in media from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Dr Adams is an Associate Professor in the College of Communication and Co-Diretor of the Project Management Center at The Florida State University. He teaches digital media production, human factors and usability testing, web programming and design and project planning for digital media projects. Prior to his position with Florida State University, he was an Assistant Professor with the Boston University College of Communication and Director of the Fusion Multimedia Center, and formally an adjunct faculty member with the University of Massachusetts multimedia certificate program.

Dr. Adams is the former principal consultant with Pilot Media, a software company that designed, developed and programmed education, marketing, and entertainment productions. He has personally developed more than 100 productions and has won numerous nationally recognized awards for his work. These awards include the Parent’s Choice Award, Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award, Association of Educational Publishers Golden Lamp, Media & Methods Award Portfolio, New Media Magazine’s Invision Gold Medal Award and International Broadcast Education Association Festival of Film, Video and Media Arts. He has worked as a technical director, programmer and project manager for notable clients such as Hasbro Interactive, Butterworth-Heinemann, McGraw-Hill Publishers, Pillsbury, Prentice-Hall, Cosmic Blender, Lotus Development Corporation, Lucas Films (Star Wars; Episode I), Seagate Software, The New England, The Princeton Review, WGBH Interactive (a PBS affiliate), and the Environmental protection Agency.

Dr. Adams has authored twelve scholarly articles and has been recognized for his work that examines the acceptability of online education by Newsweek, The New York Times, The New York Sun, The Denver Post and the Chronicle of Higher Education. He currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida and enjoys his life as a home hobbyist, Film Noir fan, and woodworker.
